  • Rehabilitate and construct safe water points: Following an in-depth assessment of safe water needs for each community, CORWAO will work with the community to determine the location of the safe water points for construction or rehabilitation.
  • Reduce the proportion of individuals who are unable to access or afford safe and clean drinking water and those who do not have access to adequate hygiene and sanitation facilities, at household, community and institutional levels.
  • Constructing sanitary facilities in schools, health facilities, other community institutions and households as needed.
  • Training community volunteers to manage safe water points and maintain their cleanliness and functionality. CORWAO will also establish community water user committees (WUCs) to maintain and manage safe water points.
  • Raising awareness and education: CORWAO will increase the awareness in the community and will provide education in water conservation and cleanliness maintenance. It will also emphasize the importance of using sanitary facilities instead of open defecation.
  • Managing waste: CORWAO will work with community leaders to manage waste in households, and in health and industrial facilities.
